Richard Gaynor is responsible for overseeing MCC’s agriculture and land projects. To date, 22 of MCC’s compacts have included substantial food security-related investments totaling over $4.7 billion, including investments in improving land governance in over 15 countries.

Mr. Gaynor came to MCC in 2006 with over 13 years of international experience specializing in land, property rights and commercial law reform. He has worked extensively in the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia and led the U.S. Government negotiating team for the Voluntary Guidelines for the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security in addition to being a member of the team that negotiated the Principles for Responsible Investment in Agricultural and Food Systems.
